Dollars and Sense

Jesse Pape is a CPA and the Controller at Manhattan Apartments. He oversees all areas of finance including: cash flow, budgeting, reporting, analysis, payroll and A/P. His strong analytical skills and detailed reporting contribute to the decisions and strategies that allow the company to ride the ups and downs of any real estate cycle.

Born and raised in Columbia, MO., Jesse acquired his Post Baccalaureate in Accountancy from Arizona State and his B.A. in Mathematics at NYU. He went on to obtain his CPA certification after several years in the work force.

For two years, Jesse was the Cost Accountant for Snyder’s of Hanover (pretzel maker). His areas of focus were costing and standard cost analysis, monthly closing, annual budgets, weekly and monthly reports, accounts payable, inventory analysis, raw material scheduling, and payroll.

As Senior Staff Accountant at Shea Homes, the largest private home builder in country, he worked in the Active Adult single-family division. He was responsible for compilation and analysis of monthly financial packages as well as budget to actual variations, accruals, monthly gross margin analysis and annual budget preparation.

Like so many others at Manhattan Apartments, Jesse enjoys the highly active, people oriented and exciting environment the firm is known for. He brings a fresh energy and passion to his position. His skills and knowledge are relyed upon and will contribute to the growth and profitability of the company for years to come.

In his spare time, he loves to read and watch TiVo, and enjoys the company of his friends. He says this keeps him relaxed and ready to tackle the challenges and diversity at Manhattan Apartments.
