Kathleen Brimlow, Manager of Planning and Development, affects synergy and integration between the various operations of Manhattan Apartments Inc. by working closely with each department. She directs the rental listings department and the web, art and marketing teams. Kathleen coordinates the development of new projects within the company, including “The NYC HomeGuide” which launched in June of 2007 and writes and/or edits all written material for the company. Her warm and caring manner is not compromised by her results-oriented intensity or her ability to focus in wherever attention is needed. As adviser and confidant, she makes a significant contribution to the policies and direction of MAI.
Kathleen was a yoga instructor in the early 70s. In 1977, she was the assistant manager of a landmark restaurant in the West Village and became General Manager in charge of the entire operation. In 1985, she obtained nursing degree and became charge nurse in her first position. Kathleen also taught practicum courses at a technical school for nursing assistant’s certification. She worked as an on-site rental agent for MAI while in college and was recruited by long-time friend Jerry Weinstein, President of MAI, to join the company as Financial Manager in 1988. Kathleen later teamed up with Denise Salizzoni to form the rental listings department. Together they are responsible for the development of our in-house rental database, one of the most sophisticated and extensive in New York City. As the company grew, Kathleen and Denise created the policies for our expanded listings department, which is now a team of seven people.
Kathleen and Jerry Weinstein keep a close eye on the overview of the company and are continuously inspired by the endless opportunities for creativity and new business strategies that the ever changing real estate industry in New York City offers and requires. After more than two decades, they still are passionate about meeting the challenges that keep the company competitive and growing.
