Sandy Levering and the other members of the rental Listings Management Team, are responsible for acquiring more than 100 new listings each day, leading to an average of over 400 apartment rentals per month. They also manage the listings desk, which is the base point for all agents, who rely on the crew to find available apartments, provide and update all pertinent information accurately, make timely appointments, and manage keys, and as such must operate as a well-oiled machine at all times. It is one of the most organized and fast-paced team efforts in the company.
Sandy plays drums in a rock band, and also keeps the beat steady in the listings department. She is extremely enthusiastic about her job, and has been an integral part of forming a team who rely on each other’s energy and hard work to keep the department running smoothly. She has the quick, bottom-line pace of someone who is experienced at working in demanding jobs and keeping things under control, along with an easy and approachable nature that helps keep the listings desk accessible and accommodating to the agents.
Originally from Pennsylvania, Sandy graduated from St. John’s College in Annapolis, MD, with a B.A. in Philosophy. She then spent a year in China teaching English to students of all ages. When she moved to New York City, she obtained a stock broker’s license within three months and took a support staff position at a day-trading firm. Although learning about the stock market fascinated her, the whimsical nature of the trader’s requests didn’t utilize her potential. When she was asked to assist a friend of hers, who is a top rental agent at Manhattan Apartments, Inc., she enthusiastically took him up on the offer. Working with him as a team, Sandy found that in apartment rentals her business insight could be immediately applied and used creatively. She and her partner were the most successful rental agents in the company for that season.
Sandy's business savvy and the warm and respectful way she interacted with coworkers made her a desirable choice for the listings department. Sandy’s quick mind and always-cool working style has made her a perfect addition to the team.
